Knightec acquires Dewire

Knightec acquires IT-consultant firm Dewire and forms a strong partner in digitalisation

Knightec acquires Dewire, a consulting firm specialised in digital solutions. The acquisition creates a strong player in the digitalisation of the industry sector and the public sector, together with the new generation of ICT solutions. The deal is part of Knightec’s strategy of developing new business models that create greater customer value through acquisitions and organic growth.

The acquisition of Dewire by Knightec creates a stronger company that can tackle the challenges presented by customers within digitalisation, including services, product development and production processes.

– Digitalisation is expected to change society at its core and needs to be a part of every company, in order to improve productivity. This will in turn create a demand for expertise, within consulting firms, concerning support within both IT and product development, together with system-based knowledge. The acquisition of Dewire creates a strong partner within digitalisation in the industrial sector, as well as the public sector, says Dimitris Gioulekas, CEO at Knightec.

“The acquisition of Dewire creates a strong partner within digitalisation in the industrial sector, as well as the public sector.”

Dewire specialises in the development and lifecycle management of digital solutions in areas such as AWS cloud, mobility, omnichannel, IoT, media and biometrics. The customer base is in the Nordic region, with segments such as the public sector, industrial sector, commerce and ICT. Dewire is situated in Stockholm and Sundsvall, with a total of about 80 employees.

Knightec has just over 600 employees and specialises in product development, primarily with connected devices and security solutions. The main market is Sweden, but the share of international business is increasing.

After the acquisition, the number of employees within Knightec will be about 700, with over 200 employees specialising in software and digitalisation. Dewire will keep its name and will become a forth division within Knightec. The company, as a whole, will be located in ten cities throughout Sweden.

– Together with Knightec, we will be able to offer our existing customers new capabilities with both a greater breadth and a higher capacity. We will also reach new clients with a broader service portfolio within digitalisation, for both service- and product-based companies. For our employees, this will create new possibilities to grow, within a larger context, in totally new areas, says Fredrik Arinell, CEO at Dewire.

The parties have agreed not to publish details regarding the financial terms related to the acquisition.
