Developing teams and individuals through leadership

Her leadership, commitment and drive make Karin Hasselström an esteemed leader at Knightec. During her almost four years within the company, she and the team in Västerås have managed to create a popular and in-demand workplace, where the focus is on care and forward thinking. Karin's philosophy is very much about building a team where each individual is given the opportunity to be their best self, both in terms of personality and skills.

It is her cordial leadership style combined with the ability to develop competencies that led to her being awarded Knightec's prestigious Golden Leader Award a few years ago. The motivation was: ”For her ability to inspire and lead with heart and brain, her courage and her ability to make demands and question established habits”.

- My view on leadership is that we do this together at the same time as we develop our own talents. The key is to dare to develop ourselves and our abilities and at the same time dare to be ourselves. It is so great that we have created a culture where we together help each other develop and have high trust in each other.

Ever since she stepped into her role as regional manager at Knightec Västerås, it has been very important for her to create a down-to-earth office where everyone should feel that they have come into their own. For her, the colleagues and the team are the most important building blocks in the company's journey forward. It is by developing each individual that Knightec can also be a good partner to its customers and how strong and long-term relationships are built.

- We want to help our customers, and we do it with care and very high competence. We often hear from our customers that they have a deeper relationship with us than with other consulting companies. We are forward-leaning but with a calm in our working methods, which I think is part of the success concept.

For Karin, it is important that customers feel confident in Knightec while also experiencing that the company drives development forward, both in terms of competence as well as corporate culture and society. Gender equality and diversity is an important item on the agenda and in the last three years, a large customer event has been arranged in Västerås on this very topic.

- In recent years, we have arranged an event here in Västerås which we have come to call ”Inspiration Day” where the main purpose is precisely to inspire and create engagement. Every year we invite a guest lecturer who I think reflects our values. Per Johansson from the Glada Hudik theater, Olof Röhlander and Elaine Ekswärd are some who have come to visit us. I am absolutely convinced that the most important thing for a prosperous workplace is openness and commitment.

Karin continues,

- The next step on our journey is to further develop our areas of expertise and bring our customers along forwards. We will focus on our areas of expertise; electrification, battery integration, and technical product development, Karin concludes.
