Meet Frida, the girl who is always on the run

// insights

She is a mingler of rank, finds bargains in the town’s secondhand stores and, makes sure to minimize the gaps in the calendar. Frida Borring is a future Knightec star that already shows a spark from the school bench.

I, like many others, asked myself what I wanted to be when I grow up, and the big question was: What should I study? After having evaluated which fields are my greatest strengths, the choice fell on Civil Engineering Engineer with a focus on design and production development here in Linköping. I have always liked technology and I find it fascinating. I decided to test it and quickly got stuck into the CAD construction bit. I like to see something grow so that is where I found my thing.
And yes, with barely half a year left at school, I still enjoy my choice.
So, before the semester comes to an end I am in a busy period, which means long days at school so most likely I find myself spending the evenings at home with my partner on the sofa. But on the weekends, I become more social. Brunches, breakfasts and hang out with friends are intertwined in lovely mishmash with some visit to one of the town’s secondhand shops.
But it's not just studying and hanging out with friends that fill my time, I also have another fun assignment alongside. Together with a study buddy, I work as a student ambassador between companies and students in Linköping via DoSpace. Ending up there was a result of my curiosity. At some point they had a lecture, I joined and as usual, I mingled on, clearly one of my best traits. There I got the offer to work as their student ambassador which is incredibly fun. New happenings all the time, last week we had a Christmas beer tasting event… Very successful and fun!
I truly believe in networking and building bridges. Soon we might arrange a Christmas baking event, for example. There are many ideas and thoughts on how to connect companies and students. Of course, a win-win for both parties.

But with Knightec it was different, there I let my gut take the wheel. For many summers I worked at Saab in Linköping in a department where many Knightec colleagues went through. We got a nice connection and I really liked what they had to say about the company. So, a colleague made sure to connect me with Knightec’s manager for the Linköping office, and there the image I already got from Knightec was reinforced as an employer.
Caring about their employees in an inspiring way, they encourage personal development and it can be seen as individual needs and their own developing pace. There are well-defined purposes and goals.
After the fall, I also got the opportunity to participate in various events and a panel debate, which has been incredibly rewarding and fun for someone like me who just loves meeting new people and making new contacts. In August I will cross the door to Knightec’s office in Linköping – I am excited and ready for it!

The value of clients in teams

Traditionally, consultants work for the client adding value with their expertise and the time they put into the assignment. Today the projects that our consultants and engineers take on, don’t work like that. Now a holistic approach, the ability to cooperate, working towards the same goals, and integrating the client in the process is what matters the most.
