Meet Henrik, who works daily with high-tech challenges

Linköping resident and project management consultant Henrik Almquist praises the development opportunities at Knightec and likes the challenge of being the one pulling the strings.

It is important to keep track of the time in the mornings, every minute is valuable and for the sake of keeping a fluent and controlled pace, I always bike to work. It takes 20 minutes flat to be in place and I can kickstart a new day.
The mornings almost always mean meetings. At eight o'clock we have a project meeting where we go through challenges and opportunities as well as the status of the incoming sub-projects, including a Friday like this.
The first coffee will be on the computer since I always have a lot to do, but I do not mind. I have time enough to check my emails and answer some questions that came up before we get ready to start a similar meeting where we check our weekly goals, milestones and planning before everybody can return to their work.
I like the mood. I have been working for the same customer since I started at Knightec three years ago and there is always room for improvement since we always work with high-tech challenges.
I mostly eat my lunch in the office, today will be a simple pasta dish with little greens and fizzy water. Maybe it is not revolutionary, but lunch gives energy, and someone could consider it routinary although I try to vary myself a few times a week. But quick lunch means that I have the option to go a little earlier these days, and the flexibility in this assignment is something I highly appreciate.
Depending on the weather, I usually make sure to get out a bit and today is such a day. The energy reserves get charged so I can return to my work.
Since my role during these years has been niched towards project management, it could be said that in my current project I often act as an advisor to the project manager who bears overall responsibility. Also, I am responsible for project planning and reporting - a function that gives me a position as the one orchestrating and pulling the strings which gives me a broad perspective over the entire process, which I like!

One of the absolute greatest benefits of having Knightec as an employer and the reason why I decided to start here right after graduation was that Knightec puts a great effort into personal development. Knightec not only recruits to fill a seat. I strongly felt that Knightec saw me as an individual instead of just a source of profit, something that can be quite common in the consulting world.
We who belong to the Knightec family in Linköping are a smaller crowd when compared to some of our other offices in Sweden. This means that we have a tight cohesion. We review ourselves during lunch little now and then, have monthly meetings and after-works.
Today, some have pulled together an after-work in central Linköping, so I plan to leave the office shortly after 4 pm to make it to the gym before I catch up with the others. After an intense week, I start to feel tired and worn out. A nice evening is coming to an end and it will be a quiet ride home through town.
