Jonas Stenvall is one of Knightec's experienced consultants working with machine vision. He is passionate about automating work processes, and in his projects, he works primarily with software development.

Jonas Stenvall belongs to an employee group in northern Sweden and possesses competence in computer vision and machine learning. A level of expertise that the company is proud to have. Over six years, Knightec has invested in the development of contactless measurement systems based on the demand from several clients. Knightec realized early on that machine vision technology would be crucial for the industries of the future and therefore prioritized to be at the forefront. In recent years, the company has built a strong capability within computer vision combined with machine learning.

”We are a smaller team in northern Sweden, mainly working within machine vision. I came to Knightec seven years ago and have my background in signal processing and optical measurement methods. At Knightec I have primarily worked with software development for embedded systems, which is a niche that we are and have been strong in historically. It's great that we at Knightec are positioning ourselves to become a leading supplier in tailor-made solutions. We have just the right strengths to develop specialized solutions for these types of applications“, says Jonas.

Since Knightec started working with machine vision, the company has formed an independent network of contacts both nationally and internationally. Over the years Knightec has become a real player in this arena, with several own projects in the backpack. You can apply machine vision in many areas, you can measure physical quantities and processes and the demand is high in both the automotive industry and the mining environment.

”We are building teams with expertise in the field of optical measurement technology, but each team member has different specialities, which makes this job exciting”, Jonas says.

Knightec's goal going forward is clear: ”We are already a leading supplier and will continue to build our platform within machine vision. We have teams now entering the mining sector and our goal is to grow to meet market demands,” says Jonas.

When asked why he chose Knightec as his employer, he says there is an openness to taking different paths. As an employee, you have the opportunity to either specialize in an area or to work more widely, which makes Knightec suitable for many.

”I prefer to be able to control which way I want to go, and I have always experienced that Knightec is sensitive to what we consultants wish to. Here you will find the opportunity to work in-house as well as at the client's premises – at different levels. At Knightec, there is a lot of room to create your role, and I like how you develop, manage, and reach common goals together with the clients”, Jonas concludes.
