Benefits of Working in a Consultant Team: Insights from a Quality & Management

// news

Trust, communication, and shared values are the building blocks of a successful team. When working together and sharing our knowledge, experiences, mistakes, and success stories, we provide time-efficient quality with our client's needs and interests in mind.

Entering the job market as a recently graduated can feel overwhelming, and it is essential to be given the right conditions to grow into the role. We spoke to Helena Bengtsson, Quality & Management Associate at Knightec, about her experience and feelings about collaborating on team-based projects.

“I started with Knightec in 2021, relatively inexperienced with MedTech. My first assignment as a consultant was in a team with three Knightec consultants on a medical device compliance and product development project”, said Helena.

She continued, “Working in a consultant team allows for more flexible work processes since the whole team delivers as one unit. Inside the unit, team members may have different roles – for example, more senior consultants could work more strategically to understand the client’s needs. A well-balanced group with different perspectives and knowledge levels enabled the exchange of ideas to enhance creativity and provide an optimal solution for the client. This flow of ideas and knowledge also heavily stimulated my personal development since I could learn more quickly”.

Collaboration is key

Mixing junior and senior competencies is a mutual exchange of experience, ideas, and methodologies. Junior and senior consultants benefit from the structure, and clients get a more cost-effective solution. By allocating several consultants on-site/in-house, they can support each other and discuss questions within the team to “sanitize” without bothering the customer with too many questions. Consultants can take on several assignments in parallel if desired, making them less vulnerable and allowing consultants to exchange within the team.

Knightec MedTech Compliance established a forum within Knightec to support each other and share knowledge in areas relevant to their customers, e.g., new/updated standards & regulations. Knightec’s competencies are best used when working with a consulting team. A team with one foot on the client side and one foot in Knightec will benefit from both worlds, as they can support each other while having fun in a team environment. Helena agrees, “I was also surprised to learn how much fun one could have at work when participating in our Knightec team – it was truly amazing to be part of.”
