It is thesis season at Knightec, just ask Johanna Edström

// news

Finally, it's time for our favourite times of the year, thesis opportunity season, a fantastic chance for you as a student to glance at your future career and understand what Knightec is about.

We spoke to a Knightec representative and a former student to celebrate the fantastic possibility of the thesis opportunity. First out in the series is Johanna Edström, a team manager at Knightec and one of the go-to regarding thesis opportunities. She is based in Sundsvall, managing several of our thesis students, and leading a team of developers and testers. Johanna is involved with attracting new talents and recruiting for our business unit Dewire by Knightec, where the thesis opportunity is an essential element.

So, Johanna, why should one do a thesis project at Knightec? “What makes the experience at Knightec unique compared to others is the close relationship with your supervisor and the entire company. You are given an insight into the business and the company and a great view into a possible future. You are challenged with a problem relevant to your study area and our business. When embarking on the journey for a solution, you’ll get to know co-workers while working under the guiding eye of your supervisor.”

Our way of working with thesis projects is well established within Knightec, as we have worked actively with students for many years. It’s an excellent opportunity to have a meaningful exchange between students and companies, to take on challenges together, research, reason and concludes. It provides valuable insight into a professional role within the industry. “It allows both of us to investigate problems, increase knowledge of subjects, and ask the right questions,” Johanna continues. “But above all, it is to build relationships with motivated students.”

The type of thesis subjects that Knightec offer for next semester is composed of 27 proposals containing topics that are both challenging and beneficial for the students but also highly relevant from an industrial perspective. “The proposals represent what we know, want to know more about, and are always related to the most important future challenges.”, says Johanna.

Are you as excited as we are? If you have any questions, you can reach Johanna Edström at johanna.edstrom@knightec.se.
