Knightec is top, and soon we’ll have the office to prove it

As the 100-person strong team at Knightec Gothenburg looks forward to moving into new offices at the top of Scandinavia’s tallest office building, we find out more about the move from Lina Goude.

Hi Lina, why is Knightec Gothenburg moving to a new office?

We need to. We’ve grown considerably over the last few years and our existing office simply isn’t big enough. It’s part of the gearing up process for what is the new normal, post-pandemic. In the past, many of our employees have worked at our client’s offices, the pandemic has shown that it’s no longer necessary – we can work more inhouse. By bringing many of them “home”, we will create a collaborative hub, which empowers knowledge transfer and competence sharing across Knightec departments and offices as well as with clients.

Why at the top of Citygate, Scandinavia’s tallest building?

There are many reasons. We want to create an environment where people want to come to the office and get inspired once they are there. Give them a sense of belonging, which can sometimes be difficult for consultants. At Citygate, we have a blank canvas. We’re designing the office layout to fit our needs and company culture, rather than molding ourselves to an existing space.

“We’ll have that amazing view, which is inspirational in itself. We’re a wow company and we will have a wow office!”

What other factors were involved in choosing the new office?

We’re in the center of town, making it easier for everybody to get to with public transport, whether they live in Gothenburg or are visiting from out of town. Then then the whole Citygate project is “very Knightec”. Sustainability is key, energy will come from a nearby solar park. Wellbeing is in focus, with an onsite gym and bicycle service center inhouse. There is also a social awareness program sponsored by the Skanska construction company that actively works to counter exclusion among young adults, which includes mentorship and support of school students. As a company that runs the school collaboration program for students at schools in vulnerable areas, this is very close to our hearts.

What can coworkers expect when the new office opens?

It will be a completely different experience from our existing office. It’s going to be a place for people to meet, collaborate, innovate, and enjoy working at. With an entire floor to ourselves, we are creating workstations, mingling areas, and meeting rooms for groups or individual Teams meetings. It will be an office to feel pride in that will reflect the great work we do. One where we can work with clients both in our region and throughout the country. We also want to attract the best new talent to our company and this is a great way to do that.

“We have plans to grow the business annually and that’s going to require great people – and in our new office, we will have the perfect environment for them to thrive.”

What does this mean for clients and partners?

We work with many clients at the forefront of innovation including the medical device and automotive industries, among others. Providing an innovative and inspiring workplace for our consultants is going to mean we can deliver even better solutions and processes for them. Having our experts onsite will mean we can quickly onboard expertise to their teams for short and long-term assignments. And again, this is a great way to attract and hold onto talented people who will be working for our clients.

We also expect to see clients at the office. We want our clients to share in our vision for the company and we are capturing that at Citygate. At the top, where we want to be and where we want to take them.
