What has made Knightec Systems North's way of working so outstanding is that they act exactly the opposite of how a consultant traditionally works. Maybe the model began to take shape when they established that modern forms of work are about partnerships, or perhaps it was a responsive and innovative manager who saw the possibilities of going against the grain.
Anders Lindberg, regional manager for the unit, saw a team with a high development pace and competence. There was a collegial exchange that was appreciated by many, combined with a curiosity to develop new areas. So instead of highlighting an individual consultant for the current client, he presented a team. A team that could solve the client’s challenges by taking the projects to Knightec and executing them in-house. With that, they went from acting as a subcontractor to being part of the start of something new. A partnership and a close-knit team were born there, acting together.
One active project constellation right now in System North consists of Magnus Isaksson, Jonas Back, and Nina Sandin. All three senior consultants employed at Knightec for a few years now and driving the new work model.
Magnus Isaksson says that the idea came from the group, and with Anders in the lead, they dared to invest. Today, the team has a larger share of this type of project, and Magnus' reflection speaks for itself:
– We have achieved great results and created good relationships with customers, which has generated a ripple effect. We have undergone a transformation from staffing to real consulting, he says.
The model has meant that the employees at Knightec have taken over responsibility and drive the development together as a team, something they believe has led to excellent team spirit and togetherness.
– We are a group of driven people who want to move forward and learn new things. It can be refreshing to try new areas, even as a senior consultant. With this way of working, it will be possible, says Nina.
Nina believes that the model opens up new solutions.
– Working in-house gives us a greater opportunity to influence the group constellations, and we can work with projects that we otherwise might not have been assigned. In this way, everyone gets the chance to develop and broaden their skills, says Nina.
